Proposed Vacation Rental License Program
What is the Proposal?
For several months, City Council has explored policy options that the City could implement to provide better oversight and regulation of lodging facilities. This first phase of review is specifically focused on vacation rentals. After several meetings, a LICENSE program has been proposed to be adopted into the Astoria City Code. The ordinance would in part:
· Define vacation rentals;
· Impose a maximum cap of 50 vacation rental units;
· Establish enforcement mechanisms; and
· Establish a licensing fee schedule.
