The Property and Evidence Unit is an essential program within the Astoria Police Department. Maintaining the chain of custody, integrity, and preservation of all seized evidence and property is of utmost importance to our mission of service.  

Property is released by appointment only. Please contact the Property & Evidence Unit at (503) 338-6433 or at email evidence@astoriapolice.org to schedule an appointment. Property releases are scheduled Monday - Friday during normal business hours 9:00am to 4:00pm.  

A valid photo ID is required to claim your property. Property will not be released without prior authorization from the investigating officer, District Attorney or Court. Release of firearms requires a background check.

Safekeeping and Found property will be held for 90 days and then disposed of pursuant to ORS 98.245 Disposition of unclaimed property If you are unable to claim your property, contact Property & Evidence to authorize a named person to claim your item(s) for you.
